Stay updated on Math Mountain. Don't forget to check out our announcements.
Solo Climbs are one-on-one tutoring sessions that could encompass direct instruction, homework help, or test preparation. If your student needs homework help, please bring the homework and any notes on the same topic to the session. If your student needs help preparing for a test, please bring any study guides, notes, and past quizzes to each session.
The Workshops are designed for grades 5th through 12th. The purpose of these collaborative meetings is to provide your students with valuable information concerning a specific topic (i.e., how to Study, how to ask your teacher for help, etc.). The topic of each workshop will be listed on the main calendar and within each newsletter. Handouts will be given upon arrival, personal quizzes and reflections will be provided, and your student will have an opportunity to be entered into a raffle for a prize.
A Social Climb is an opportunity for climbers to come together, collaborate, and have fun on Math Mountain. This day of reprieve is filled with fun math activities, games, and projects. Social climbs are primarily peer-based. Climbers have a chance to meet other students from the same school or different, who also need math remediation or enrichment, and have various ways of understanding math concepts. The goal after each social climb is for your climber to come home and say, "Math was fun!"
What if I need to reschedule or cancel an appointment (i.e., Solo Climb) or class (i.e., The Workshop and The Social Climb)?
All parent(s)/guardians(s) may reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the start of your appointment or class.*
No refund will be given to those who fail to reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Please contact Math Mountain directly (via phone call or email) for all cancellations. Cancellations cannot be made online.
Rescheduling any appointments or classes can be completed online. You can also email or call and we'll do it for you!
*If there is any confusion or doubt, please reach out! We would love to work with you as long as all changes are made 24 hours in advance.
What if my climber is late to any appointments or classes and/or does not show up?
If your climber does not show up within 15 minutes of his/her appointment's scheduled start time (i.e., Solo Climbs), they will be considered a NO-SHOW. Staff members are not obligated to meet with a climber who arrives more than 15 minutes late to his/her session, but they may still choose to do so at their discretion.
If a climber does not show up, the session (i.e., Solo Climbs) is officially canceled and no refund will be given.
If your climber does not show up within 5 minutes of the start of The Workshop, they will not be permitted to stay. The Workshops are only 45 minutes and a lot of valuable information is given at the beginning. Your climber will be at a disadvantage arriving late. They will not get the full effect of The Workshop and their late attendance will disrupt the environment for the other climbers.
No refunds will be given for late arrivals or no-shows.
All social climbs are 1 hour and 10 minutes. If you want your climber to fully enjoy the games and get to know their peers, arrive on time.
All late arrivals and no-shows will charged the full price of The Social Climb.
All sessions will adhere to the time allotted. Sessions cannot run over the allotted time or start early.
What if Math Mountain cancels an appointment or class?
If Math Mountain cancels an appointment or class, parent(s)/guardian(s) will be contacted immediately and all cancellations will be put into effect on the website.
No charges/fees will be collected* and alternative dates and times will be offered to make up for the inconvenience.
*Refunds will be issued or a credit will be given (i.e., credits can be used for upcoming classes or appointments).
What if I am late picking up my climber?
All climbers must be picked up within 5 minutes of the conclusion of the appointment or class, you will be invoiced a late pickup fee.
You will have 7 business days to pay the invoice.
If the invoice is not paid, you will prohibited from signing up for any services. At such time, the respective party must speak with the director of Math Mountain to resolve such matters.
If there are any extenuating circumstances (i.e., family emergencies), Math Mountain will consider them when assessing and implementing the policies previously mentioned.
It is ultimately the parent's/guardian's responsibility to ensure that their climber is arrives on time and is picked up on time.
